PLAR Portfolio Process

There are 7 steps in the process needed to create a PLAR portfolio:

  1. Obtain a skill set of outcomes related to your request for PLAR i.e. ECE diploma or Human Services Degree.
  2. Read the required skill set several times.
  3. Collect materials such as reference letters, photographs, other visual or audio visual materials, performance evaluations, job descriptions, certificates, newsletters, planning documents, documented research, or any other information to support the outcomes listed in the skill set.
  4. Document learning to support the outcomes in the skill set. Identify values, skills, and knowledge gained through a variety of learning opportunities.
  5. Organize material to support documentation of learnings.
  6. Request additional documentation to validate learnings.
  7. Present four copies of the portfolio to be evaluated.
